~ And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain~

The first rays of sunlight came through his window, not waking him as he had already been up for what seemed like hours. No, they just came peaking through reminding him it was the start of a new day, a day that was either going to make or break everything for him. He reached over to his bedside table and picked up the phone, punching in a now familiar number.

Seto looked over at the clock as soon as his phone started ringing, ‘Thought I was the only one stupid enough to be up at this hour on the weekend...’ “Kaiba.”

“Good morning to you too.” Jounouchi loved the idea that no matter how some things changed they still stayed the same. “What’re you doing right now?” he asked knowing the answer before it even came out of Seto's mouth.

This day looked to be a lot brighter; it always did at moments like this, all it took was hearing that voice. “Well I was trying to finish up a few things before you come over later...unlikely I’ll get anything done then. You are still coming by right?”

The blond sighed, “Yeah, I still need to see you before we go out later, with everybody. I fixed the one thing last night now I need to fix it with you...”

The last part faded out so much he wasn’t entirely sure he had heard correctly. “Fix it? What are you talking about Katsuya?” Seto was worried, somehow he sounded slightly defeated, as if he was giving up. That wasn’t a good thing in the brunet’s mind; maybe he had been right in the first place, nothing good ever lasted for him. ‘How many times do I have to go through this?’

“I’ll tell ya when I get there okay? Mind if I come by now?” ‘The sooner this is over the better.’

“As if I wanted you to leave last night; you would already be here. I’ll send a car for you, no arguments.”

“What like I like walking all the way over to your place every time? Please! The limo would be nice.” Jounouchi got up off the bed as he reached for the clothes he had thrown on the floor the night before. If Seto was going to send someone for him, it wouldn’t take too long, better to be ready and not have them waiting for him.

Seto could almost believe it was a true attempt at humor this time, not the usual front his love put up whenever he was hiding something. Almost. “How long do you need? The car can be there in 10 minutes.”

“That’ll work, just gotta throw on something. I’ll see you in a little bit.” He hung up the phone with the word, “Love...” He tossed on the clothes, quickly ran a brush through his hair, and then walked out the front door quietly not wanting to wake his dad.

After getting off the phone with Jounouchi, Seto called to have someone pick him up. He tried to continue with the work in front of him but gave up knowing his mind was distracted. ‘Maybe now I’ll know just what’s been bugging him for so long?’ If it did not seem too undignified, he probably would have gotten up and started pacing across the floor, while he waited. As it was, Seto never even thought about it. Instead, his thoughts turned to what it was his brown-eyed love wanted to talk about. He knew he loved him, after yesterday, neither one had any doubts about that, but there was still something bothering the blond. “Nothing to do but wait.”

He didn’t have too long to wait, twenty minutes later a buzz came from the intercom on his desk, letting him know that the car had arrived. Seto met Katsuya at the door, opening it for the blond to enter.

Jounouchi just shook his head, hair falling every which way over his face, “Can we just go out back for awhile? You know to one of the gardens you were telling me about or something?”

Seto led him around to the back of the estate walking in silence waiting for his love to start. They reached a fork in the path they were on and he turned to face Jounouchi, “You’re choice. Left flowers or right rocks.”

Amber eyes looked up at him half-cocked, ”You have a Zen garden?” He paused watching Seto's face for his answer. “Never used it huh?”

“Actually, yes I have. Mokuba and I used to play tic-tac-toe in the sand. There might still be a few out there.”

Jounouchi turned nodding towards the right path, “Let’s go see.”

It was only a little further down the walkway, nestled between a set of shrubs. “Guess the winds wiped them all away.” The white sands lay flat, barren next to the near black rocks positioned around the area. He pointed to a larger rock near center then looked at Seto, “Have a seat.” He stopped again for a moment thinking aloud, “Damn do all of our conversations start like that?”

“Pretty much, yeah.”

“Fine. You sit; I’m playing in the sand.” Jounouchi picked up a small wooden rake, and started dragging it around in the sand next to the rock Seto was perched upon. “So anyways, I kinda need to tell you something.” The waves in the sand, wrapped around Seto and the rock, forming a completed circle. He stepped back, moving to another spot before continuing. “You know you’re the first person I’ve ever really loved? I mean outside family and stuff...you know loved...” He watched the sand that had just been beneath his feet pass through the rake, rippling behind it.

Seto wondered to himself if he should answer that question, ‘Maybe he’s just being rhetorical?’ The sunlight shone off the shifted sand, breaking into a dozen different beams, all casting a glow around the blond. Since Jounouchi hadn’t returned to talking, Seto answered him, “I know you’re the first for me...”

The amber eyes finally came up, looking into those brilliant blue, “I know. But...you weren’t my first...”

‘Was this what he had been worried about?’ “Kats...”

“No, just listen to me okay? I mean, I don’t think you care too much about that right? But, I needed to let you know, I was more or less in a relationship when we first got together. Nothing was happening; nothing was going to either all things considered. The main thing is I actually didn’t break the whole thing off until last night...but we had both moved on.”

Seto didn’t know if he wanted to knock the hell out of him, laugh his ass off, or just...he decided to get up. He walked over to where Jounouchi was standing looking again at the sand, and lifted the blond’s head up to look into his eyes. “Katsuya, I knew about that.” The wide-eyed look he received in reply caused him to laugh, “Otogi, right?”

“What? How?”

“Close your mouth first you’re going to catch flies. I told you before I had been watching you, for a long time. I knew everything you did every minute of the day.” He thought back to how that almost included the night as well, if he had believed a camera would have gone unnoticed in the boy’s bedroom. “It didn’t matter then and it sure as hell doesn’t matter now. Your mouth is still open.” Seto decided on a better use for it than fly catching, as he tilted his head down slightly he brought the other’s up. Placing his lips on the parted ones before his, he brought them into a kiss.

A familiar electricity ran through his body, autopilot took over and Jounouchi’s brain finally kicked in again after the signal came through that there was something more interesting happening. He melted into Seto's arms as they wrapped around him, pulling him closer, breathing in the essence that was his love. When they parted Jounouchi asked, “You’re all right with that?”

“Gods, here I thought it was me you were ashamed of,” he sighed. “Katsuya, where are you right now? Who are you with today? And who’s pounding your sweet ass tonight?” He paused watching the blond blush a bright red. “Or sooner? Unless you still want to talk about it?”

“Well I did want to let you in on something that’s going to be happening later, but that can wait for now.”

Seto looked down at his watch, “What time are we supposed to be at the game shop? It’s almost nine now.”

“Nine-thirty. Come on, let’s go so you can get ready and I’ll tell you what’s about to happen...”

It looked as if Jounouchi was on of the first to arrive at Yugi’s. Anzu and Honda were already there also. As the doorbell rang again announcing Ryou and then Otogi’s arrivals, Jounouchi waited for the show to start.

They had all gathered in the living room when he looked toward the green-eyed boy, letting him know it was time for him to start. “You all know Jounouchi and I’ve bee seeing each other for a while now...” There was a noticeable change in the room; obviously, this was going to be a big moment from the looks of everyone.

All eyes were on the dice master, when a voice called out interrupting him, “Is that what they call it?” Everyone turned to look at the speaker. “I would have thought that there was another name for dating someone, then breaking their heart in two by screwing around on them.”

Honda jumped up ready to defend his playmate, “Kaiba, what are you doing here? And what the hell would you know about it anyways?”

“What am I doing here? I was invited.” He bent down kissing the top of Jounouchi’s head. “Sorry I’m early. I know you someone here could have blown the best thing you’ve ever know, but lucky you...he’s already forgiven you. Me on the other hand...”

“Seto.”

“I can think of other things I’d rather be doing than sitting here talking to you right now.”

“So Jounouchi, you and Kaiba are?” Anzu’s voice brought them all back to the reality of their very public announcement. Yugi, Ryou and Anzu all looked at them in amazement. “Well that would sure explain a few things lately.”

Jounouchi looked at his friends, “You guys have a problem with this?”

“No, of course now. It’s just odd, you know. You and Kaiba?”

“I think it’s great...”

“I’m jealous.”

Jounouchi broke himself away from his friends who were now grilling Seto over their relationship. He walked over to where Otogi and Honda were sitting. “Look I’m sorry about that. He gets a little ‘Kaibaish’ still sometimes. Just give them sometime; they’ll forget it and you two can announce your whatever. Everyone will be happy for you then.”

“You two have got it bad.”

“No kidding.” His hand came up brushing the hair out of his face, “Hey guys, don’t we have a movie to get to?”
