He waited the next day until school was out before confronting Ishtar about his brother, but he kept his eye on him all day. After the last period of the day, he waited outside watching for the Egyptian. He finally came out of the school with the other members of Yugi’s little gang.

“Ishtar, I’d like to talk to you for a moment please.”

“Sure Kaiba.” He told his friends he’d catch up with them later and turned back to the icy calm CEO. “What’d ya...” he didn’t get anything else out as the Kaiba slammed him up against the nearest available wall.

“What the hell did you give my brother?”

“I don’t know what you’re...oh,” he said with a smile, “you mean that?”

“Yes. That. Tell me just why I shouldn’t kick your ass from here to next week for giving Mokuba drugs?”

Marik laughed at him only making Kaiba madder than he was. “Did he tell you what it was I called it?”

“Something called Obecalp...I looked it up on the internet. There’s no such thing. What. Was. It!”

“For such a genius you sure are stupid.”

Kaiba blinked, stunned at this. “I‘m ready to kill you and you have the balls to mock me?”

Marik just laughed again, a gleam in his eye, “Obecalp? Try spelling it backwards...”

A blank look came over Kaiba’s face along with understanding. “Sugar water?”

Marik nodded at him.

“Why?”

“He was all depressed about something one day, said he needed help with something he wanted but couldn’t get.”

“And you, being the wonderful thoughtful person you are, decided giving him ‘drugs’ would help.”

“No. He thought for some reason that drugs would help him get over it. I figured it would be better to steer him clear of any of the real stuff.”

Kaiba let go of Marik and pointed him towards a near by bench. “Sit.” “Did he tell you why he thought he needed drugs?”

“Wait a minute...he didn’t even tell his brother? Must be one hell of a girl he’s hot over.”

“Why do you say that?” he asked suspicious of the violet eyed boy.

“Look I didn’t ask him. I mean everyone does something completely stupid sometimes...but he did mention the need for courage to get what he wanted. I gave him the sugar water and told him it would give him what he wanted most. I may be occasionally psychotic but even I know you don’t screw around with drugs.”

Kaiba had to admit that was probably true. “Thank you.”

“So,” Marik asked, “did he get what he wanted?”

It was his turn to smile now, “Yes, and I don’t think we’ll have to worry about needing any drugs to do that again.” He got up to go, leaving Marik to wonder just what that was all about.
