My World
Pairing/Character: Yohji
For most people, certain memories are triggered by particular stimuli. The smell
of fresh baked cookies usually reminds one of childhood, happy and safe. Looking
at a photograph reminds one of the time or event when the photo was taken.
Hearing of another’s tragedy will inevitably bring back memories of your own.
He, however, did not have memories such as these.
It seemed his stimulus were usually flashes of colour, although the memories
were incomplete. He could not, for instance, understanding why he wanted to jump
every time he saw someone with extreme orange-red hair. Why was it he expected
them to speak with a German accent? Just what it was about someone wearing
bright red, that caused him to smell and feel blood upon his clothes--that one
bothered him a lot.
Most puzzling of all, was the memory clouded in violet and crimson. His body
always reacted to that combination--it haunted his dreams at night. When lucky,
he would wake to find himself just on the verge of release. Those nights he
would not have to explain or not explain anything to Asuka; they could work out
any residual effects of his dreams, his missing memories, together. It was a
contemptible substitute, he knew although he didn’t know who he was substituting
her for and she never asked, never knew.
Therefore, he continued watching for the colours that would lay rest to his
questions about his past. Waiting for the day, he could finally understand why
he wanted to drown eternally in that crimson and violet flood that was just out
of his reach.
